What a trip for two costs, line by line

We quote one price for two, for your dates. This page shows the parts that make up that number, what comparable services cost on the open market with published figures and dates, and how cheaper offers are usually built.

Why the trip pages say 'On request'

A trip for two on Phu Quoc is mostly hotel nights. The difference between a beach bungalow and a private-pool villa for five nights is larger than everything else in the trip put together, and hotel rates also move with the month and with Vietnamese holidays. A single 'from' price would be true for one couple in one week and misleading for everyone else.

So we quote after you send the form: one figure for the two of you, with each line listed, the hotels named and the published prices of anything we pass through at cost, such as entry tickets.

The first line is usually more than half the total. The planning line is the same whether you choose a simple room or a villa, which is why it is a smaller share of a more expensive trip.

These are figures third parties publish for their own services. They are not our prices, and they change; we show them so you can judge our quote against the market. Each is a published price with the month it was read; confirm before travel.

What moves the price, in order of effect

The hotels. Room type, view, private pool or not. We name the hotel in the quote so you can compare like with like.
The month and the holidays. Summer is the domestic high season; the 30 April to 1 May holiday has seen most rooms on the island fully booked. Late in the year is quieter.
Add-ons. The sunset boat and the photo session are the two largest optional lines.
The number of bases. Each hotel change adds a transfer and may add a late check-out or early check-in charge.
Distance. A north-west base means longer drives to the south and to the airport than a Long Beach base.

What is never in the price, and why

Flights. You know your route and loyalty programmes better than we do.
Visas. Phu Quoc's 30-day visa exemption covers the island only, and rules change; check the official rules for your passport.
Travel insurance. We do not sell it. Buy a policy that covers boat trips if you add the sunset boat.
Most meals and drinks. Breakfast is included; dinners are booked for you and paid where you eat, unless your quote says otherwise.
Tips. Personal, and paid directly to drivers, crew and photographers.

How a cheaper offer is usually built

If another quote for a similar trip is much lower, one of these is the usual reason. None is wrong in itself; you should just know which one you are buying.

Hotels described by star rating instead of named, so the room can change.
A shared boat with other passengers sold as a 'sunset cruise', or a boat that returns before sunset.
A 30-minute photo session with 20 photos, against a half day with two locations.
Shared transfers on a fixed schedule instead of a private car timed to the light.
Tickets left out and paid on the spot.
No rain plan: a missed sunset is simply missed.

Questions travellers ask most

Why is your quote higher than a package I found online?

Usually because of the hotel, the private transfers timed to sunset, or a shared boat in the cheaper offer. Ask us to price the same hotel and the difference becomes clear line by line.

Are ticket prices marked up?

No. Tickets in the plan, such as the Kiss Bridge entry, are passed on at the published price for your date.

Does the price change after we confirm?

The confirmed quote is the price, unless you change the trip. The quotation explains the payment steps and the cancellation terms.

Can we pay for only part of a trip?

Yes. If you already have a hotel, we quote only the transfers, tickets, boat or photo session you add.
