Charming Phu Quoc

Which month gives the clearest sunsets on Phu Quoc?

January to March have the fewest rainy days in the climate record, under seven a month, and the west coast is calm in the dry season. December is close behind with about six; April already averages about twelve. From May to October each month averages 19 to 24 rainy days.

Do we need a visa for a Phu Quoc-only honeymoon?

Foreign visitors entering Phu Quoc directly through an international gate can stay up to 30 days without a visa, but only on the island. If you plan to visit anywhere else in Vietnam, you need a visa first. Check the official rules for your passport before booking flights.

Can we combine a trip with a stay we already booked?

Yes. Tell us the hotel and dates in the form. We plan the sunset boat, the photo session and the dinners around where you are staying, and the quote covers only what you add.

How far ahead should we write?

We suggest two to three months ahead for Lunar New Year and the 30 April to 1 May holiday, and four to six weeks for the rest of the dry season.

Trips for two

Why do the trip pages say 'On request' instead of a price?

Because the hotels you choose and the month move the price more than anything we add. We quote one figure for your dates, with every line listed, after you send the form.

Can we change the order of the bases?

Yes. In May to October we often reverse the seven-night plan or swap a west-coast base for the south-east coast, where the water is calmer in that season.

Are the trips shared with other couples?

No. Transfers, the boat and the photo session are private to the two of you.

Phu Quoc honeymoon 5 nights

Can we stay in one hotel for all five nights?

Yes. You lose the early Bai Sao stop and the short walk from the hotel to dinner on day four, and gain one more slow morning. The driver takes you to Sunset Town and back from Long Beach instead; it is a longer evening.

What if it rains on a planned sunset evening?

Your day plan names a fallback for each evening, usually a covered terrace facing the same direction or a move to the next day. Showers on Phu Quoc are often short and heavy, so the sky can clear within the hour.

Is the Kiss Bridge crowded at sunset?

It is the bridge's peak window; the operator charges double between 16:00 and 19:00. Arrive early enough to walk the bridge before the light turns, then choose your place.

Can we add a third base in the north?

For five nights we advise against it: a third check-in costs half a day. With seven nights, the north-and-south itinerary does exactly that.

Phu Quoc 7 nights north and south

Is the north-west too remote for a honeymoon?

It is quieter, not cut off. Resorts there have their own restaurants, and the airport is 40 to 50 minutes by car. What you lose is walking out to a choice of restaurants in town.

When are the starfish at Rach Vem?

A local guide reports them on the sand in the early months of the year. We do not promise them; if they matter to you, travel in the first months of the year.

Can we do the whole week on the north-west coast?

Yes, and we will plan it, but you lose the Kiss Bridge and the south's evening options unless you accept a long return drive for one sunset.

What happens in the rainy season?

We reverse the order or move a base to the south-east coast, which is calm from May to October, and treat west-coast sunsets as decisions made on the day.

Sunset boat for two

Is it safe to take a boat on Phu Quoc after July 2026?

Island trips resumed on 23 July 2026 under stricter checks on registration, life jackets and passenger numbers. Our boat is registered, life jackets are worn while moving, the boat carries only the two of you and the crew, and the captain can stop the trip at any time.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the port's departure control or the captain says no, the trip does not go. Before departure you choose another evening or a full refund of the boat price.

Can we bring our own wine or a cake?

Tell us when you book. We ask the boat operator and confirm the answer in writing before the evening.

Do we need to know how to swim?

No. Life jackets are worn whenever the boat is moving, and there is no swimming on this trip.

Couple photo session

Sunrise or sunset: which gives better photos?

Sunrise on the east coast is quieter and works in the wet season too. Sunset on the west coast has warmer colour over the sea and Sunset Town's architecture, but more people around you. If you can face an early alarm, sunrise is calmer.

Can we shoot on the Kiss Bridge itself?

The bridge is open to visitors with a ticket. Rules on photography areas, crews and equipment are set by the operator and can change, so we check them for your date and tell you before the session.

How many photos do we get?

The number of edited photos and the delivery date are written in your quote before you book, so there is no surprise afterwards.

What should we wear?

Light, plain colours photograph well against sea and sand; busy prints and logos do not. Bring flat shoes for the walk between locations. If you want a temple in the background, dress modestly; Ho Quoc pagoda requires it.

Prices

Why is your quote higher than a package I found online?

Usually because of the hotel, the private transfers timed to sunset, or a shared boat in the cheaper offer. Ask us to price the same hotel and the difference becomes clear line by line.

Are ticket prices marked up?

No. Tickets in the plan, such as the Kiss Bridge entry, are passed on at the published price for your date.

Does the price change after we confirm?

The confirmed quote is the price, unless you change the trip. The quotation explains the payment steps and the cancellation terms.

Can we pay for only part of a trip?

Yes. If you already have a hotel, we quote only the transfers, tickets, boat or photo session you add.

Read in full: Prices.

How to book

Can we book only the sunset boat?

Yes. Send the form with your hotel and dates; the boat and the photo session can each be booked alone.

Do you need our passport details?

Not to quote. To book hotels and the boat, we need your names exactly as written in your passports; hotels check the passports themselves at check-in.

Can you arrange a proposal or a surprise?

We can book the table, the flowers or the boat and keep it quiet. Tell us in the form, and tell us which email address the plan should go to.

Areas

Which area is quietest for a honeymoon?

The north-west coast around Bai Dai and Ganh Dau, which a local guide describes as less crowded. Of the three areas on this page, Long Beach's southern stretches are quieter than its Duong Dong end.

Can we see the sunset from Bai Sao?

Not over the sea. Bai Sao faces east and is a sunrise beach. For sunset you need the west or south-west coast.

Which area is closest to the airport?

The airport is about 10 km from Duong Dong. Long Beach and Sunset Town are both about 20 to 30 minutes by car; the north-west is about 40 to 50 minutes.

Read in full: Areas.

Long Beach & Dinh Cau

Is Long Beach good for swimming?

From November to April, yes: the sea on the west coast is calm and clear, and there are flagged zones with lifeguards at peak hours. From May to October waves are larger and the water murkier; swim only where the flags allow.

Where on Long Beach is quietest?

The southern stretches, away from Duong Dong. The northern end runs into town and is busier.

Is Dinh Cau worth visiting at sunset?

Yes, if you combine it with the night market on the same evening. Avoid the festival days in the tenth lunar month if you want space on the rocks.

Can we walk to the night market from the beach?

From hotels at the northern end, yes. From the large resorts further south, a short car ride is easier.

Bai Sao & the south-east

What time should we arrive at Bai Sao?

Before 08:00, ideally around 07:00, and on a weekday if you can. Later in the morning it fills with day visitors.

Can we watch the sunset at Bai Sao?

Not over the sea. It faces east. Come for the sunrise and the morning swim, and go to the west coast for sunset.

Is the south-east coast good in the rainy season?

It is the calmer side from May to October, when the west coast takes the monsoon waves. That is when we base couples here.

What should we wear at Ho Quoc pagoda?

Modest dress is required; covering shoulders and knees is the safe choice. Bring a light layer if you are coming straight from the beach.

Sunset Town & Kiss Bridge

When does the sun line up with the Kiss Bridge?

On 1 January each year, according to the operator. The computed sunset that day is at about 17:55. Arrive well before 17:00 to find a place.

How much is the Kiss Bridge ticket?

The operator publishes 50,000 VND from 07:00 to 16:00, 100,000 VND from 16:00 to 19:00 and 50,000 VND from 20:30 to 23:00. Children under 1 m are free. Confirm before travel.

Is the Kiss Bridge worth it in the rainy season?

As an evening outing when the sky clears, yes. As the fixed centre of a trip in August or September, no: those months average more than 22 rainy days.

Do we need to stay in Sunset Town to visit?

No. It is about 20 to 30 minutes by car from Duong Dong or the airport. Staying nearby saves the drive after the late shows.

Sunset calendar

What time is sunset on Phu Quoc?

Between about 17:40 (around 10 November) and 18:31 (around 10 July), computed for Duong Dong. Mid-January is about 18:02, mid-March about 18:16 and mid-September about 18:06.

Which month has the most reliable sunsets?

February has the fewest rainy days in the climate table, 3.7 on average, followed by January and December. March is close behind.

Can you see the sunset over the sea from Bai Sao?

No. Bai Sao is on the south-east coast and faces the sunrise. For sunset, go to the west or south-west coast.

Is it worth coming in the rainy season for sunsets?

Only if you are flexible. Showers are often short and evenings can clear, but each month from May to October averages 19 to 24 rainy days. Plan several possible evenings rather than one.

Read in full: Sunset calendar.

Quiet beaches

What is the quietest beach on Phu Quoc?

Among well-known beaches, the north-west stretches around Bai Dai and Ganh Dau are described as less crowded. On any beach, the first two hours after sunrise are the quietest.

Is Bai Sao too crowded?

By late morning on weekends and holidays, it can be. At 07:00 on a weekday it is calm and much emptier, which is when we go.

Which months are least crowded?

Outside the summer domestic peak, the Christmas to Lunar New Year period and public holidays. November outside holidays and the weeks after Lunar New Year are good gaps.

About

Do you only plan trips on Phu Quoc?

Yes. If your trip continues elsewhere in Vietnam, we plan the Phu Quoc days and you book the rest separately.

Can you plan for more than two people?

No. Our itineraries, boat and photo session are built for couples.

Why don't you show customer reviews?

Because readers cannot check reviews on a company's own site. Ask us your questions directly and we answer them in writing.
