A photo session, in the right light

This session is for couples who want photographs of the two of them on the island that do not look like midday snapshots. It is planned around light, not around a list of landmarks. The morning version uses the east coast, where Bai Sao is the beach recommended for sunrise; the evening version uses the west, where Sunset Town and Long Beach face the setting sun.

It is not a wedding production. There is one photographer, no lighting crew and no drone. If you want a full pre-wedding shoot with styling and a team, the market for that on Phu Quoc is a different product with a different budget, and the pricing page shows the published ranges.

Sunrise session: Bai Sao and Bai Khem

Sunrise on Phu Quoc ranges from about 05:42 in May and June to about 06:25 in January (15th of each month, 2026). The photographer meets you about 45 minutes before sunrise, so the first frames are in the blue light before the sun clears the horizon. A local travel guide recommends starting beach shoots between 06:00 and 08:00, and describes Bai Khem's water as calm and clear, with fewer crowds early in the day.

This version suits the wet season too: from May to October the east-coast beaches are the calm side of the island. You are back at the hotel for a late breakfast.

Sunset session: Sunset Town, the Kiss Bridge or Long Beach

Start about two hours before sunset in the streets of Sunset Town near the cable-car station, then move to the Kiss Bridge or the beach for the last light. Sunset Town and the bridge face west, which makes backlit and silhouette shots possible. If you prefer sand to architecture, we use a west-facing stretch of Long Beach instead.

In the first months of the year there is a third option: Rach Vem on the north coast, where wooden walkways run over the water and red starfish appear in the shallows. It is further from most hotels and works well in the morning light.

Times are computed for Duong Dong. The meeting and start times are our planning rule: about 45 minutes before sunrise, and about two hours before sunset.

If rain is forecast for your session, we move it to another day of your stay at no cost. If it starts raining at the first location, the photographer waits up to thirty minutes; showers here are often short and heavy. If it does not clear, we reschedule. Booking the session early in your trip leaves room to do that.

In the five-night honeymoon the session can take the place of the boat on day five, and in the seven-night plan it fits day three at Rach Vem or day five in Sunset Town.
